On June 25, 2017, Mandra Forestry Liberia Limited a corporation involved in logging activities, signed a Third-Party Forest Management Contract with the Sewacajua Community to harvest logs in an area covering 31,336 hectares of forestland. The contract duration is for 15 years, and subject to periodic review after every five years. Since the signing of the contract, community members through their leadership have consistently complained of the logging companyâs non-compliance with the Social Agreement.  In July of last year, community members met in Gbalawin, Wacaba Statutory District, Sinoe County, to review Mandraâs operations.
