The moment of insight came when, at the age of 17, he was engaged in a philosophical discussion with an Indigenous elder he’d been connected with while studying at Red River College. The elder said to me, ‘I want you to imagine that you’re sitting in the centre of a teepee,’ recalls Bridges, 43, who on April 27 began his new job as the sixth CEO in the history of the Winnipeg Foundation, replacing Rick Frost, who led the charitable organization for the past 24 years.
