Police Seek Driver Who Killed East Harlem Pedestrian In Hit-And-Run

There was no description of the driver immediately available. NYPD said they are still investigating and no arrests have been made.
This is at least the 224th traffic fatality this year, an increase of 11.4% over this point in 2019 so far. There have been 95 pedestrian deaths from cars this year, police said.
On Friday, Frederick Thomas, 49, was killed while biking on First Avenue near East 118th in East Harlem, police said, following a crash that appeared to involve a box truck driver and an illegally parked car.
Police maintain that Thomas, who lived on Lenox Avenue in East Harlem, was biking against traffic on First Avenue when he was struck by a man driving a box truck northbound on the avenue.

A driver responsible for the death of a pedestrian in East Harlem is in the wind after hitting the man, then losing control and flipping the car early Saturday morning, police said.
The fatal hit-and-run occurred near the corner of 110th Street and Third Avenue around 12:30 a.m., police said Saturday.
Police say the driver continued driving and between 110th Street and 115th Street, lost control of the white sedan causing it to flip on the roadway.
