Homeowners from across Walnut Hill commissioned paintings from the Impressionistic painters, showing pride in their neighborhood.

The Progress-Index PETERSBURG - Residents organizing a cleanup near Wilcox Lake came across a gruesome scene over the weekend. At least five dog bodies were found in a wooded area of the park near the edge of the road. Three of the bodies were found relatively intact, though greatly decomposed, while the skeletal remains of at least two other dogs were mixed in. Residents said the strong stench of rotting tissue tipped them off that their might be a problem in that area. One of the residents doing the cleanup, Marcus Squires, said the stench was so bad that he had to walk away.
