Several elementary schools will likely be closed as part of an effort to close a $4.68 million shortfall brought about by the failure of a West Bonner County levy.

West Bonner residents looking for information on the school district's one-year supplemental levy on the May 21 ballot have their pick of informational meetings to attend.

The West Bonner school district officially has a $4.68 million levy on the May 21 ballot. Language on the levy was adopted at a special March 18 board meeting following a March 12 meeting that approved moving forward with the levy.

After swearing in new trustee Kathy Nash to her Zone 5 seat, trustees Margaret Hall and Troy Reinbold were formally sworn into office after being re-elected by voters in November. Hall was then elected board chair and Ann Yount was elected vice chair. Yount was appointed to the Zone 4 seat after former WBCSD board chair Keith Rutledge was recalled by voters along with former vice chair Susan Brown, who served in Zone 2.
