Nearly 5,000 people a year in Florida are diagnosed with HIV, a number that hasn’t budged much in the last 10 years despite the nation overall experiencing an 8% decline. And many Floridians don't even know they have the virus.
Men and women who are 35 and older and either have HIV or are at risk for getting it may qualify for a paid study that focuses on the risk of death from cardiovascular disease among people who have the virus that causes AIDS.

"What is really really incredible and really good news is that they both achieve efficacy of over 90%, which is extremely, extremely high when we talk about the effectiveness of a vaccine," Alcaide said.
