Early Christmas present for Gresley steam locomotive engineers
Prince of Wales coupling rods ENGINEERS working on a new Gresley class p2 steam locomotive are delighted to have received an early Christmas present of a pair of machined coupling rods. The project to build locomotive No 2007 Prince of Wales, at Darlington Locomotive Works, has been ongoing for seven years with a fundraising target of £210,000 to pay for manufacture of the heavy motion. £175,000 plus Gift Aid has already pledged by 175 supporters.
