Fort Collins things to do: Horsetooth Reservoir paddlers get safe zone
Record visitation to Horsetooth Reservoir and an increased number of paddleboarders, kayakers and canoeists at the reservoir west of Fort Collins has prompted officials to separate motorized boaters from those activities due to close calls, injuries and rescues that have escalated in recent years. To separate the groups, Larimer County Department of Natural Resources created a paddlecraft-only zone on the west side of the Satanka Bay, the reservoir's northernmost cove, limiting motorized boats to the east side of the cove.
