We welcome Thomas Mulliez and Mark De Ridder's comments on the BIG 3-07/TROG 07.01 study.1 The 15% increase in acute adverse events in patients who had a tumour bed boost compared with no boost after whole breast irradiation for ductal carcinoma in situ was mainly due to self-limiting radiation dermatitis.
