In March 2020, near the start of the pandemic, Mark Hagopian's wife took him to Elliot Hospital. "I was just hoping that every breath I took wasn't going to be my last," he said. "It was that bad." Doctors told him he had COVID-19. "I thought I was going to die, for sure, and that's when I said to the doctor, 'I'm too young. I'm too young to die,'" Hagopian said.
