Mount Carmel immunizes first workers as new COVID vaccine arrives

The second coronavirus vaccine was approved Friday and arrived Monday in central Ohio, where one of the first doses was administered at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital. Dr. Mark Herbert, an infectious disease specialist, was the health system's first frontline worker to be immunized just after 11 a.m. Monday. His shot, much like many others inside hospitals the past week, was met with applause from a handful of Mount Carmel leaders who watched.
