"The vaccines need to be reconstituted and made up," said Westwood Pharmacy owner and pharmacist Oley. "We're reconstituting the Pfizer vaccines with Sodium Chloride," said Pharmacy Coordinator Dr. Shubhro Pal. "Saline is put into the vaccine to mix it up, and once it is mixed up, the vials go over to the drawing tables where they pull up 0.3 ml for each dose." According to Pal, each vial contains about six doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and expires after six hours.
