A Cincinnati police officer is expected to plead guilty to dereliction of duty. Prosecutors say he improperly handled 47 cases including rapes.
On Friday, Hamilton County Prosecutor Mark Piepmeier announced that the investigation into Cincinnati Police Officer Christopher Schroder is complete.
For a generation of Hamilton County residents, prosecutor Joe Deters was the face of law and order. After 25 years, Deters stepped down from the job Friday.
Piepmeier is taking over the role previously held by Joe Deters, who was sworn in as an Ohio Supreme Court Justice on Saturday.
A more than 40-year veteran assistant prosecutor, Piepmeier will serve as prosecutor only until a permanent replacement is chosen.
