January set to break record as busiest for new US corporate bonds

The month is poised to be the busiest January on record for new U.S. corporate bond sales, with two regional banks on Monday adding to what has been a rush of post-earnings debt issuance by banks. Truist Financial Corp, the financing arm of Truist Bank, on Monday announced a two-part senior unsecured bond offering. Also on Monday, Fifth Third Bancorp announced that it was seeking eight-year senior unsecured notes, also fixed-to-floating rate and of an as-yet undisclosed amount.

US-owned bulk carrier approached by drones off Yemen -British security firm

British maritime security firm Ambrey on Thursday said that a Marshall Islands-flagged US-owned bulk carrier reported that four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) approached and circled the vessel approximately 87 miles southeast of Yemen's city of Mukalla. The maritime security firm said that the drones remained in the bulker's vicinity, highlighting that it's the second incident involving the vessel, which was not named.
