FEBRUARY - The month had an extra day in it in 2020 as it was a Leap Year, but it was also late in the month the U.S. began making preparations for a novel coronavirus, later named COVID-19. On Feb. 29, there were 83,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, nearly all in China. A few had been detected in the U.S., but there were no confirmed cases yet in Ohio, though seven people had tested negative and 212 people were being watched because they had recently traveled out of the country.
