Story. of course, the senate side of the story. we can talk about that as well. even after the bill is signed into law, it doesn t stop things. things will continue. they will have sub committee and we consider lots of legislation. we are working on a big fda bill. we did a markup in committee last week. we will do another markup in full committee next week. we will have that continually through this year and next year. i would wager some time. a lot of people are concerned i did not repeal enough of obamacare. left the independent advisory payment is still on the books. i expect we will have bipartisan support for that. there are a number of things ahead of us that we can work on together. this is just one more step in the process. i, for one, am so grateful that the folks in the senate. ....

always good to be with you, chris. how are you? it s always a pleasure. i m good. i want to bracket for a second the substance, whether the bill is good or bad, and just focus on the changes of the principles, the house gop espoused. on the website, there was the following sentence. americans should never be denied coverage or charged more because of a pre-existing condition. that was a sort of universal principle that was on that website. it s now been taken off because that s no longer the case with this bill, right? i disagree that that s no longer the case. but wait. why did they take that language off the website if it s not no longer the case? i don t know. you need to talk to somebody who s in charge of the republican website, not me. but i was deeply involved with this bill as we marked it up in the committee on energy and commerce. we had a 28-hour markup. just to take even a step back, this bill was marked up and passed in a previous congress in december of 2015. ....

Do in the congress is now being proven by the republicans. with respect to continuing coverage, how does quite frankly, i ve said this before, i ll say it again. to those states that didn t expand medicare, the members of the legislature, there is a special place in the afterlife for you. effectively over the last few years, you have seen thousands of people die in your states whose lives could have been saved if, in fact, you had expanded medicaid. now what we re seeing is the republicans in the house want to force states out of medicaid by making it unaffordable, saving them even more money and this in a program that even with that 50% cutback to 50% is underfunded by everyone s markup of this bill. connecticut governor dan malloy, i appreciate your ....

That passed the house and senate and vetoed by president obama. as far as the concepts new, that is not accurate. the bill was read in entirety. the 120 pages of the energy and commerce jurisdiction. it was read in the markup. that was a request of the democrat in the markup. that was accomplished. it is not it is disingenuous to say the bill hasn t been read. i m not saying that. i m saying the cbo hasn t rescored it. you are comfortable voting yes on a bill that takes tens of millions off of coverage and pre-existing conditions not covered. let s take that individually. first off on the cbo score. yes, the cbo coverage numbers were to say the least disappointing. i disagree with the numbers. i don t think they accurately predicted human behavior. why someone getting a medicaid policy in an expansion state if ....

They re moving too fast. there was no markup. there was no subcommittee. there were no amendments. this was not usual order in this house. i can guarantee you this. there will likely be usual order in the senate to slow this bill down and work on some of the changes. i also think the affordable care act is not perfect. i don t think any democrat will tell you that it is. we should work on fixing it. the idea of a full gut repeal, rolling back medicare expansion, putting this shaky upton amendment on preexisting conditions. it should all make the american people nervous. sandra: some would say that was a game changer that $8 billion to address the concerns about preexisting conditions. we are waiting on democrats who will be holding a presser to react to this healthcare bill passing in the house. of course, we ll all be curious to see what they have to say and what the path forward is for them. is it fair to say the republican party came together in this moment? ....
