Days later, Brockton and State Police obtained an arrest warrant for Normil. In July 2020, Normil was added to the State Police s Top 10 Most Wanted list for its violent fugitive apprehension section. His wanted poster said he was considered armed and dangerous and mentioned previous convictions for assault and weapons offenses. Normil was located in the Dominican Republic on Oct. 21, 2020, and placed in custody by U.S. Marshals. He was taken to New York and taken into custody as a fugitive from justice. He pleaded not guilty to murder in Brockton District Court eight days later. Normil will be arraigned in Brockton Superior Court at a later date. Assistant District Attorney Joseph Janezic will prosecute the case. ....
BROCKTON A Milton man who fled to the Dominican Republic and was featured on the Massachusetts State Police s Most Wanted list was indicted Friday on a murder charge. Witchael Normil, 25, of Milton, was indicted for charges related to the shooting death of Marshawn Potts, 26, of Brockton, in December 2019, according to the Plymouth County district attorney s office. The night of Dec. 18, Brockton police and emergency medical personnel found Potts in the driveway of his West Side home at 10 Shaw Road suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary, investigators do not believe this was a random act of violence, District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a previous statement. ....
