Galesburg council approves donating land to Community Foundation
The Galesburg City Council Monday night approved the donation of a parcel of land next to the former Rheinschmidt's Carpet building. The building was purchased by the Galesburg Community Foundation to be renovated and leased to the River Bend Food Bank and is to be the new home for the FISH Food Pantry. The small parcel of land is currently Graham Park for the city, but isn't included in the Master Park and Rec plan and is not an active park for the city. It was approved unanimously.
