Toys: Matchbox cars 'will be made with 100% recycled material' by 2030
All Matchbox die-cast cars, playsets and packaging will be made from 100 per cent recycled and recyclable materials by 2030, toymaker Mattel has announced. Toward this goal, the firm has unveiled its first carbon-neutral die-cast vehicle — a second generation Tesla Roadster made from 99 per cent recycled materials. The faithful recreation of the all-electric sports car is made from 62.1 per cent recycled zinc, 36.9 per cent recycled plastic and 1 per cent stainless steel.
