“I’m excited for people to hear this album because I feel like it’s more of a grown me,” Young says. “I’m 24, and a lot of people hold me to the music I made when I was 17, 18 and 19. So I just feel like it’s time for me to show the world my growth as a human being and the things that are on my mind nowadays.” Released on Friday, Dec. 18, Angel Deep serves as the follow-up to Young’s 2018 full-length Take the Night Away 2. In lieu of the album’s release, our Seth Johnson caught up with Young for a phone interview.
