With the Lahaina fire that has led to the closure of about 600 businesses, according to the Hawai’i Small Business Development Center, and forced many others to change course the Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival has become a lifeline for some businesses and a symbol of economic recovery for Maui.
The pin, named after the Hawaiian phrase “Mālama Maui,” signifying “Caring for Maui,” hopes to offer solace to residents while providing guidance for visitors. Its fundamental purpose is to establish a supportive environment for residents by offering a visual cue to visitors, signifying the importance of refraining from inquiring about the experiences of Maui residents, thus respecting their privacy.
Maui small businesses hit by this summer’s wildfires are getting financial support to participate in this year’s Hawaiian Airlines Made in Maui County Festival, happening on Nov. 3 and 4, 2023 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
The Hawaiian Airlines Made In Maui County Festival announced the lineup of selected vendors for its 10th anniversary, taking place on Nov. 3-4 at Maui Arts & Cultural Center. This year’s festival showcases products from Maui, Molokaʻi, and Lānaʻi.
