Sewage works creating a stink in Port Sunlight
A skip on the United Utilities site in Port Sunlight A "sickening" smell coming from a sewage treatment site has angered residents who say they cannot even have their windows open. The smell is understood to come from the Beaconsfield Sewage Treatment Works in Port Sunlight, which is run by United Utilities. John Bentley, who lives in the nearby Sparks Croft area, said the smell had led to it being given a new nickname. Mr Bentley added: "The smell is disgusting, the kids in the local area call it the 'fart factory' because it basically smells of poo. "People have to stay indoors...
