More than 50 stalls will be set up at the Big Shed Pavilion at Mackay Showgrounds as organisations showcase their work and find new recruits. The Mackay Regional Council organised event was developed to encourage local volunteering opportunities and provide community groups with promotion and exposure while celebrating the work of existing volunteers. The statues will be positioned on the corner of Wood and Victoria Street, commonly known as âMaltese Cornerâ. The proposal for the statues was put to council on Wednesday, with councillors unanimously voting for the project to go ahead.
