Allied Arts is unveiling a new public art installation in downtown Oklahoma City this week to celebrate its 50th year.

Young artists and others in the Oklahoma City area supported by 25 local nonprofits will benefit from more than $160,000 in grants awarded to the organizations recently by Allied Arts.

After seeing the staggering effect the pandemic has had on Oklahoma’s cultural community, Allied Arts recently put out a call to “spread the hope.” Kicking off its 2021 annual fundraising campaign earlier this month in a virtual format, Allied Arts shared both the immense struggles and equally impressive victories arts organizations have experienced over the last year. “We at Allied Arts, and many throughout the country, embrace the theme of hope,” Deborah McAuliffe Senner, president and CEO, said in an online presentation announcing the Allied Arts 2021 Campaign Kickoff.
