Spring weather brings the start of a long-anticipated renovation and expansion project in Lake City at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH). Fencing now surrounds a large area of the hospital parking lot to limit access for the safety of patients, visitors, staff and construction workers. “We are excited to see the building project moving forward,” says CEO, Cindy Carstens. “Over the next several months, many changes will occur as the construction crews work on each phase of the project.
