Along the Street: More restaurants reopen indoor dining
As more people are innoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine, Yamhill County restaurants are beginning to reopen their dining rooms. Most also continue to offer outdoor dining and takeout.
In McMinnville, Third Street restaurants also are getting ready for the start of the Dine Out(side) program, which will run Friday through Sunday starting May 28, and on Thursday evenings, as well, from July to September.
Among recent reopenings:
n Nick’s Italian Cafe, 521 N.E. Third St., opened its dining room for dinner service on Thursday. It will be open tonight and Saturday, as well, then switch to a regular schedule of Wednesdays through Sundays. ....

Marcus Larson/News-Register## Kathleen McKinney places daffodils on the memorial for 411 Eatery and lounge owner Rick Drakely who died unexpectedly over the weekend. Like so many others, McKinney has fond memories of Drakely. She described how hard he was trying to make the restaurant succeed during trying times. He wasn t going to give up, McKinney said. He was going to make sure 411 survived, but now I m not sure what s going to happen.
Downtown business owners and other McMinnville residents were shocked and saddened over the weekend to learn popular restaurateur Rick Drakeley died suddenly of a heart attack. He was 47. ....
