"The ongoing conflict in Manipur has become the longest conflict in the history of the country. the Government of India has remained as silent spectators," MCM president M Thoiba Meetei said.
The Meetei Council, Moreh, Manipur stressed on the dire need for the PM and government of Manipur to intervene to ensure the restoration of the multicultural town of Moreh to the pre-1991 status.
Moreh is just 4 km from the west of Myanmars largest border town Tamu. Moreh, which is 110 km south of Imphal, has been restive as a section of people are opposing the deployment of state forces in the area. The area had witnessed a series of violent incidents since May 3.
The Meetei Council Moreh said Meeteis have been residing in Moreh town since 1940 and expressed shock over the ludicrous rules set by the Kukis against the Meiteis of Moreh.
