Covid-19: Mumbai doctor tests positive thrice, twice after vaccination | India News

MUMBAI: A 26-year-old Mulund-based doctor has tested positive for Covid-19 three times since June 2020, twice after she got fully-vaccinated earlier this year. “The reinfections are confusing,” said Dr Shrushti Halari, whose swab samples have been collected for genome sequencing as part of a study on breakthrough infections (occurring after a person is vaccinated).
While there are no clear answers for why the doctor got Covid thrice, doctors told TOI that the reasons could range from SARS2 variants to her immunity levels to an incorrect diagnostic report (though RT-PCR is the gold standard for Covid-19 testing, it has a sensitivity of around 70%-75%).

मुंबई में एक डॉक्टर के तीसरी बार कोरोना संक्रमित हो जाने का मामला सामने आया है। हैरानी की बात यह है कि वैक्सीन लगवा लेने के बाद भी डॉक्टर महामारी की चपेट में आ गईं। मुलुंड इलाके की रहने वाली डॉक्टर सृष्टि हलारी पिछले साल जून 2020 से लेकर तीसरी बार संक्रमित हुई हैं। उन्हें इस साल वैक्सीन लगी थी।
वैक्सीनेशन के बाद संक्रमण हो जाने को लेकर चल रही स्टडी के तहत डॉक्टर सृष्टि के स्वैब सैम्पल्स को जीनोम सिक्वेंसिंग के लिए कलेक्ट किया गया था। डॉक्टर्स के अनुसार तीसरी बार संक्रमण के पीछे कई कारण हो सकते हैं, जिनमें से SARS2 वेरिएन्ट्स से लेकर इम्युनिटी लेवल या गलत डायग्नोस्टिक रिपोर्ट भी वजह हो सकती है।
बीएमसी के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि हलारी के सैम्पल को यह चेक करने के लिए कलेक्ट किया गया है कि वैक्सीनेशन के बावजूद वह संक्रमित कैसे हो गईं। इनमें से एक सैम्पल बीएमसी और दूसरा प्राइवेट अस्पताल की तरफ से किया गया। अभी संक्रमण की वजह की जांच की जा रही है। डॉक्टर हलारी 17 जून 2020 को बीएमसी कोविड सेंटर में काम करने के दौरान पॉजिटिव पाई गई थीं। उसके बाद इस साल 29 मई और 11 जुलाई को संक्रमित हुईं।
डॉक्टर सृष्टि हलारी ने बताया, 'पहली बार जब मैं कोविड संक्रमित हुई तो इसलिए क्योंकि एक सहकर्मी संक्रमित पाया गया था। फिर मैंने अपनी पोस्टिंग पूरी की और पीजी प्रवेश परीक्षा से पहले ब्रेक लेने का फैसला किया और घर पर ही रही। जुलाई में पिता, भाई सहित पूरा परिवार ही कोरोना संक्रमण की चपेट में आ गया था।'
डॉक्टर सृष्टि का इलाज कर रहे डॉक्टर मेहुल ठक्कर ने बताया, 'ऐसा संभव है कि मई में हुआ दूसरा संक्रमण जुलाई में फिर से ऐक्टिवेट हो गया हो। या फिर आरटी-पीसीआर की रिपोर्ट निगेटिव आई हो।' वहीं FMR की निदेशक डॉक्टर नरगिस मिस्त्री ने कहा कि हो सकता हो कि ऐसा होने की वजह कोरोना के किसी नए वेरिएंट का सामने आना हो।

MUMBAI: The former state home minister and his son, citing health concerns posed by Covid, have side-stepped two summons from ED so far in connection with the extortion and money laundering investigation registered against him and some senior police officers.
Anil Deshmukh has been questioned once though and officials have searched his residence and other premises in Mumbai and Nagpur.
It is the ED’s contention that Rs 4.18 crore in bribes were funnelled into a Nagpur-based trust run by Deshmukh and his son as donations and loans. It was done by routing funds via shell companies and two Delhi-based hawala operators Surendra and Virendra Jain.
