California city sells over 7 acres of land to cemetery for $1

A California city council agreed to sell part of a local park to a cemetery for a bargain.
Members of the Lompoc City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to give the Lompoc Cemetery District 7.64 acres of land that was a part of Beattie Park in California.
Noozhawk. “We have no plan to develop that area anytime soon.”
“We just want to have that for future generations to expand the cemetery when it’s needed, and again, most of us probably won’t be around when that happens,” he added. ....
