Emory President Gregory L. Fenves has issued the following statement about the Donna and Marvin Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. The center, which opened in 2003, was made possible by an $8 million gift from Donna and Marvin Schwartz, along with gifts from hundreds of individuals as well as numerous corporations and foundations. Donna Schwartz is a 1962 graduate of Emory College of Arts and Sciences. Stephanie Koury ( Emory Law Journal. Janiel Myers has been chosen to fill the highest position at the Emory Law Journal (ELJ). The journal, which was founded in 1952 was the first sponsored by Emory University’s School of Law, and now Ms. Myers will be the first black editor-in-chief at the ELJ. The publication, which is the oldest at the university, prints academic, professional and student-authored writings on a wide range of legal topics. North West University The accomplished legal academic died of natural causes on Saturday, surrounded by family at his home in Johannesburg. Among many of his accomplishments, Du Plessis was part of a team that worked with the now President Cyril Ramaphosa and produced the country's draft Constitution in 1996 and the Bill of Rights. Du Plessis is survived by his wife, three daughters and six grandchildren and his sister.
