markp2 weeks agoLast Updated: May 11, 2021 Three people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck about seven miles north of Charles City Monday afternoon. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2005 Chevy suburban driven by 19-year-old Elizabeth Schmidt of Charles City was westbound on Floyd County Road B33, near the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department, when she attempted to pass a road maintenance grader. A cloud of dust created by the road grader caused poor visibility and Smith was unable to see the eastbound 2015 Ford Edge driven by 35-year-old Brandon Hummel of Riceville and the two vehicles collided head on shortly before 2:30 p.m.
