LA MESA —  La Mesa police have arrested a parolee in connection with a series of robberies earlier this month, including two in which the robber used a gun, the department announced Tuesday. The 34-year-old man, taken into custody about 9 a.m. Thursday, is suspected of robbing a La Mesa Denny’s restaurant a day earlier on April 7, and a La Mesa 7-Eleven on Parkway Drive on April 3, Lt. Greg Runge said in a news release. The thief at the Denny’s said he had a gun, and thief at the 7-Eleven showed a gun. In both instances, he demanded cash from the register.
