When tourists carve graffiti over Native rock art, archeologists do everything they can to remove it. But some of the damage is permanent.
Some idiots carved their names on prehistoric petroglyphs in Big Bend—and it's part of a disturbing spike in vandalism.
"With each instance of vandalism, part of our nation's heritage is lost forever," Big Bend National Park Superintendent Bob Krumenaker said in a release.
Ski Apache opens from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Dec. 29.
