New York’s attorney general wrote to a federal judge on Thursday, asking to be tagged into an ongoing lawsuit against the right-wing hucksters Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, who allegedly sent robocalls targeting Black voters in an attempt to suppress voter turnout ahead of the 2020 election. 
The lawsuit, filed in October by the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, focuses on a robocall that falsely warned thousands of recipients in several states that voting by-mail could be used against them specifically, by sharing personal information with law enforcement pursuing old warrants, credit card companies pursuing debtors and public health officials seeking to administer “mandatory vaccines.”  ....

New York attorney general Letitia James announced Thursday that her office is filing a motion to join an ongoing federal lawsuit against Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman over robocalls they allegedly made in 2020 in an attempt to discourage Black people from voting. The right-wing operatives who were already notorious for their outrageous political schemes found themselves in deep trouble over the robocalls, which reached 85,000 phone numbers nationwide and led to criminal charges in Michigan and Ohio.
James wants to join an existing suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that alleges Wohl and Burkman carried out a campaign that targeted Black voters with deceptive robocalls about the 2020 election. The attorney general also intends to sue Message Communications, Inc., the company Wohl and Berkman used to send the calls, an ....

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Thursday that her office filed a lawsuit against conservative operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman for their alleged participation in orchestrating robocalls that targeted Black communities, urging voters not to cast mail-in ballots.
An investigation conducted by James s office reportedly found that Wohl and Burkman, through their fictitious organization Project 1599, violated state and federal laws when sending out robocalls that threatened and harassed Black communities using disinformation. ....

NY AG takes legal action against conspiracists' robocalls to suppress Black voters

Letitia James has moved to take legal action against two notorious conspiracists who used threatening robocalls to target and suppress Black voters.
According to a press release provided to
theGrio, approximately 5,500 New Yorkers were subjected to discriminatory and harassing robocalls ahead of the 2020 election. James filed a request to intervene in a federal court proceeding against two conspiracy theorists over their voter suppression efforts.
An investigation conducted by the Office of the Attorney General found that

Jack Burkman hid behind a sham organization, “Project 1599,” and violated state and federal laws by orchestrating robocalls to threaten and harass Black communities. ....
