Police say a man who died after crashing an SUV loaded with gas cans outside an upstate New York concert venue appeared to have been aiming at a pedestrian crossing.
Police said the 35-year-old suspect drove around and made at least a half dozen purchases of gasoline in gas containers before causing a “chain of events" deadly crash.
Authorities say no evidence exists of a larger plot in a vehicle crash that killed three people, including a driver, who is suspected of an intentional act.
A motive for the tragedy remains unknown, but family members of 35-year-old Michael Avery said he likely had “undiagnosed mental health issues.”
