VA: County considers 19th century approach to abortion curbs
Citing a more-than-a-century-old and dormant federal law — the Comstock Act — leaders of Grayson County in Southwest Virginia considered an ordinance to prohibit the mailing of abortion medication and abortion-related paraphernalia. The board voted 5-1 not to adopt the ordinance at this time. Several residents and a board member hope the board will revisit the issue next year.
