Etter sommerens ekstremvær spør forskere om følgene av klimaendringene er blitt undervurdert. – Vi er litt sjokkert, sier den britiske forskeren Chris Rapley.

Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University Highlights Excitons are excited particles that form when negatively charged electrons bind to positively charged holes Researchers have now used cutting-edge technology to capture the first ever image of the electron inside of an exciton The technique uses extreme ultraviolet light to break excitons apart and kick the electrons into the vacuum of an electron microscope By measuring the angle at which the electrons are ejected from the material, the research team determined how the electrons and holes orbit each other in an excito...

Physicists Have Caught Electron Orbits in an Exciton Quasiparticle For The First Time There's been a fabulous new achievement in particle physics. For the first time, scientists have managed to image the orbits of electrons within a quasiparticle known as an exciton - a result that has allowed them to finally measure the excitonic wave function describing the spatial distribution of electron momentum within the quasiparticle.   This achievement has been sought since the discovery of excitons in the 1930s, and while it may sound abstract at first, it could help in the development of various ...

By Ryan Young Dec 24, 2020 2:27 PM A new court date has been set for a Brandon man, charged in connection with a violent incident in Russell. Russell RCMP were called in June of last year to a report of a 56-year-old man being assaulted, threatened, and having some of his belongings stolen. While officers were on scene, the suspect returned, and resisted arrest, so Mounties had to use a taser to subdue him. The suspect also caused damage to the Russell RCMP cell block. 40-year-old Michael Man faces numerous charges, and will return to Russell Provincial Court on January 27th.
