Four music students from Tuolumne County competed in a statewide contest, and two of them received top honors.

Tuolumne County performers represented strongly at a Young Musicians Competition with the winners being announced this past Saturday in San Jose.

Michael McLean's life is full these days. The Athens 53-year-old restaurant owner is getting ready to celebrate 30 years of marriage to his wife Suzanne, two healthy daughters, and five kidneys.

Kaweah Health, the largest hospital in Tulare County and a critical healthcare services provider to underserved populations in Central Valley, recently affiliated with Stanford Medicine’s Cardiac Surgery Program. Surgeons are employed by Stanford Medicine, but live and work in Visalia.

Last week in Louisville, Kentucky, some 3,500 educators, exhibitors, performers, and supporters came together to listen to performances, attend workshops, learn about new music and products and generally celebrate music education together.
