Booster shots of the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines lost some effectiveness after 4 months but still did a good job of keeping people out of the hospital during the Omicron surge.
Vaccine effectiveness was higher in people who had received boosters than in people who had received only the original series of shots.
