A northern Arizona father was convicted of first-degree murder Thursday in the 2020 starvation death of his 6-year-old son.
Anthony Martinez was found guilty Thursday by a jury of first degree murder and other crimes associated with the death of his 6-year-old son.
The jury returned guilty verdicts on all seven counts Martinez faced just after noon.
Overseen by Coconino County Superior Court Presiding Judge Ted Reed, the sentencing hearing included statements from numerous parties, including victims, their families, attorneys on both sides and the defendant himself.
Alexander Baca was given the mandatory sentence of life in prison on Thursday afternoon for the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
