Batavia funeral director charged for not burying, cremating body in timely manner again

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WHEC) A Batavia funeral director is once again facing charges for allegedly failing to bury or cremate a deceased person within a reasonable amount of time.
Michael S. Tomaszewski, owner of Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel kept someone s remains for a year and a half, from Sept. 10, 2019, to March 16, 2021, according to the Genesee County Sheriff s Office.
The sheriff s office says after it was contacted, the remains were removed from the funeral home and buried.
Tomaszewski was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Town of Batavia Court on April 26, 2021.
He faced similar charges in November of 2020 when he was accused of not burying or cremating a body for 264 days. ....

Batavia funeral director facing charges for not burying body

BATAVIA, N.Y. A Batavia funeral director has been charged with not burying the body of a dead person within a reasonable amount of time.
According to the Genesee County Sheriff s Office, someone who had died on September 10, 2019 was in the care of the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral and Cremation Chapel until March 16, 2021. The sheriff s office says they were contacted about the situation on March 16, adding that the body was subsequently removed and buried.
Michael Tomaszewski, 49, was charged with a violation of New York State Public Health Law 4200, and issued an appearance ticket. Tomaszewski is set to appear in the Town of Batavia Court on April 26. ....
