A $1 million gift from the Michigan Turfgrass Foundation to the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) launches a $5 million campaign to endow the Joe Vargas Chair in Turfgrass Pathology.
James Tiedje, a University Distinguished Professor Emeritus at MSU, has been elected a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The findings can help in the development of more resilient plants that are able to withstand nutrient-poor conditions, thus improving global food production.
