With the strong catch-up of mid and smallcaps in last couple of months, brokerage house Axis Securities believes the broader market may see some time correction in the near term but the long-term story of the market continues to remain attractive. It lists top mid and small-cap picks for February.
The brokerage has increased its weight and remains ‘overweight’ on Banks, Cap Goods and Healthcare, and diversified financials (led by HDFC AMC). It is ‘equal weight’ on IT and ‘underweight’ on Auto, Metals, Cement, Consumer and Oil & Gas.
Resistance is positioned at 19,850 on the higher end; a breakthrough could potentially propel the Nifty towards the 20,200 mark.
