Despite being one of the world’s oldest crowns, Denmark’s royal family is refreshingly progressive. Ditching pomp and circumstance in favour of a more down-to-earth approach, Queen Margrethe became a model of modern monarchy over the course of her 52-year reign (name another queen who worked on set designs for Netflix, or rode on a rollercoaster at the age of 82).
