From staff reports Despite the emergency authorization of a vaccine for COVID-19 for the first time on Friday, the numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths locally continues to rage on steadily with each local county adding more than 200 new cases over the past week, according to data released Monday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. In Mifflin County over the past week, 21 additional deaths attributed to the virus were reported, meaning now 76 Mifflin Countians’ lives have been claimed by COVID-19.
