Nashville Bridge Company, Nashville, Tenn., built the 720 hp. W.W. Fischer for Central Sand & Gravel Company of Memphis, Tenn., in 1929.
After sinking and being covered to the pilothouse in sand, the mv. Warren Hougland was raised and eventually became a floating restaurant.
The mv. Fort Jackson, which was built in 1951, is still operating today as the Starfire, owned by ARTCo and operated by Inland Marine Service.
