During the visit Charles toured the multi-million dollar bus station and saw one of the vehicles up close before unveiling a plaque which read: To commemorate the visit by HRH The Prince of Wales on 19th July 2021 to Exeter bus station. While unveiling the plaque Charles joked: Good job I turned up on the right day.
July 19 marked Freedom Day in the UK, with most coronavirus restrictions being lifted now that two thirds of all adults have been vaccinated against Covid-19 however some, such as wearing masks in enclosed spaces, remain.
