Someone then shot the dogs to try to free the victims.Ruth McClinton told WISN 12 News her brother, 75-year-old Ben Payne, was headed to the bus stop and cut through the alley. And that s when he said the dogs come out. He said he really didn t know what was happening. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Three people were hospitalized with serious injuries after being attacked by two loose pit bulls Wednesday on Milwaukee’s north side. The incident was reported at 11:35 a.m. in the 2800 block of West Melvina Street, in the Franklin Heights neighborhood, police said. The dogs attacked and injured a 75-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man. All are expected to survive, police said. During the attack, someone fired a gun at the dogs, injuring them both. They have been taken in by Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control. The dogs’ owner also received a citation, police said. ....
