Benchmarks trade on firm note; realty shares correct

Domestic equity barometers firmed up in mid-afternoon trade. At 14:23 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, rose 157.82 points or 0.34% at 46,256.83. The Nifty 50 index gained 40.15 points or 0.30% at 13,554. The broader market outperformed the benchmarks. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.82% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index gained 0.84%.
