SAN FRANCISCO, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Boeing announced on Monday that the company and China's Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. (GAMECO) signed a 5-year Integrated Materials Management (IMM) program contract, marking the first time Boeing will provide a comprehensive materials management solution in the Chinese mainland.
The agreement will enhance Boeing support for nacelle and flight control surface removals with a more robust MRO footprint while combining Boeing’s industry-leading asset pool with the hands-on repair experience of Spirit AeroSystems.
Boeing is tapping 737 MAX subassembly supplier Spirit AeroSystems to expand its aftermarket support of its newest narrowbody aircraft family, launching spares pools for structural parts that Spirit will support through its repair capabilities.
